Israel Premier Tech cycling team continues to strengthen its squad for next season, announcing on Tuesday the signing of New Zealand climber George Bennett for the next two years.
Bennett, 33, won the Tour of California in 2017 and came second in one of the world's toughest one-day races – the Giro Lombardy – in 2020.
Bennett is expected to strengthen the team in mountain races and Grand Tours. "Having recently focused on strengthening the team with talented sprinters, the addition of Bennett will add depth to our climbing team," explained team principal Chel Carlstrom.
In doing so, the team continues its strengthening trend, having recently signed British world champion Ethan Vernon, one of the most promising sprinters in the world.
